The Sioux Falls Red Pandas defeated the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 9-3, in M3L Triple A action at The Bamboo Forest. Matt Sheppard received player of the game honors. The 13-year veteran went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Reliever Adrian Neumann picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Danny Bystrom took the loss. Gunner Hardy earned the save for Sioux Falls, his 1st of the year.

In the bottom of the 6th, shortstop Willis Kirkendall gave Sioux Falls the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Red Pandas had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Ellenburg pitcher Danny Bystrom changed that -- and Sioux Falls went on to win.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Kirkendall told the Sioux Falls Times.

Sioux Falls has now won 3 straight, while the Fighting Dachsunds have lost 3 in a row.
