The Tremont Doubledays topped the Pennsauken Flyers, 2-1, in M3L Triple A action at Pennsauken Park. The player of the game was Tremont pitcher Mathieu Neri. In 7.1 innings, Neri surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Powell Beauregard, credited with the save, is now 12 for 15 in save opportunities.
Had Sang Hong-Do not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hong-Do hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Doubledays.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Hong-Do told a Tremont Observer reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
Tremont, at 30-37, sits in 8th place in the Menard's AAA.
