Fog Clip Longnecks in Tight Contest
|
The Sunset District Fog faced a tough opponent in Bloomington pitcher Vincente Ortíz, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Lookouts Ballpark by a final score of 5-3. Ortíz went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Sunset District reliever Rodrigo Sandoval got the win, raising his record to 7-1. Antonio Godfrey was tagged with the loss. Sunset District is now 27-26, Bloomington 34-19.
Armando Rodríguez had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth for the Fog. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Sunset District trailing 3-2, he hit a 3-run home run.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Rodríguez.
