The Bloomington Longnecks defeated the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 3-2, in M3L Triple A action at Lookouts Ballpark, with Bloomington pitcher Jorge Otero named player of the game. Antonio Godfrey got credit for the save for Bloomington. It was his 2nd of the year. Bloomington goes to 33-18. The win puts them 6 games up in their division.
Roberto Alonzo drew 2 walks for Bloomington. The 27-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Olivier Carlier. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Bloomington manager John Muńóz said.
