Longnecks Roll Over Doubledays, 10-3
|
Benefiting from Darrell Terwey's productive game, the Bloomington Longnecks downed the Tremont Doubledays, 10-3. Terwey went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Longnecks. Jorge Otero got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 5.1 innings. Nick Taylor picked up the save, his 1st.
The Longnecks got a big at-bat from right fielder Eddie Ménard. For the game, Ménard went 1-5, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 35th hit of the season gave Bloomington a 4-2 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Ménard said after the game.
Bloomington has now won 4 straight.
