The Bloomington Longnecks beat the Augusta Timber Hawks, 7-3, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Willie McGirt, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Fernando Ramírez got the win, improving to 3-2. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Bloomington is now 25-18, Augusta 25-18.
Eddie Ménard, the eight overall pick in the 2024 draft, aided the Bloomington cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder went 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.
"I really like what we did out there today," Ménard said after the game.
