Golden Cranes Slip Past Pennsauken, 5-4
|
Santa Barbara played host to Pennsauken at the friendly confines of Crane Field.
The Pennsauken Flyers got a superb performance from pitcher Vincent O'Higgin. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Santa Barbara. The Golden Cranes won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, O'Higgin was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. Santa Barbara reliever Albert Emery picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Holden Rosen Grupp was collared with the loss.
Logan Manning was the walk-off hero for Santa Barbara. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Golden Cranes catcher hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Santa Barbara manager William Franklin.
Santa Barbara is now 21-13. Pennsauken is 14-20.
