Campos 3-4, Golden Cranes Move to 18-11
|
Santa Barbara left fielder Rubén Campos was instrumental in his team's 7-3 win over the Tremont Doubledays. Campos, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AAA in runs scored with 24, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Golden Cranes. The winner was José Guillén, who threw 103 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Santa Barbara.
Sixto Álvarez drove in one run for Santa Barbara. The 29-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Armando Ortíz. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Álvarez told the Santa Barbara Observer.
