|
The Brinkley Belugas scored a 3-2 win versus the Pennsauken Flyers at Pennsauken Park. Brinkley shortstop Marcos Deleón nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Esteban Gómez was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 6 walks and 6 strikeouts. Bob Roth finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
Harold Wiggins was a key contributor to the win for the Belugas. In the top of the sixth with no one out, the light-hitting right fielder stroked a home run to right. He went 1-3 with a home run.
Pennsauken manager Juan Rodríguez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
