Brinkley pitcher Glen Holland gave the Coyotes all they could handle, but in the end, Hamilton left Coyote Wildlife Refuge with a 6-5 win. Holland allowed 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings. Hamilton reliever Rafael Peralta picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alonso Cruz absorbed the loss. Hamilton is now 1-1.
Noel Wells was the walk-off hero for Hamilton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Coyotes catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Good to get a win," said Wells, "but it's a long season."
