Chávez Pounds 3 HR Against Continentals Tuesday, September 5th, 2028 Fireworks exploded with regularity in the Screaming Eagles-Continentals game, but it wasn't a match that set them off -- it was the bat of Raúl Chávez. He belted 3 home runs in an awesome display of sheer power. In the 8-2 Mercer Island victory Chávez stunned the Continentals pitching staff for 4 hits in 5 at-bats and knocked in 3 runs. After the game, Chávez said simply, "I saw everything they threw at me. Hitting was a piece of cake today... with lots of extra icing on it." Raúl Chávez hit a solo-shot off Javier Romero in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Javier Romero in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Héctor Rodríguez in the 9th. Currently Chávez has 11 home runs and a .295 batting average. |
