Burch Batters Naperville Big Time
Monday, June 5th, 2028
Tortolita Drummers catcher Jim Burch had a day to remember at Drummers Ballpark today, ripping apart the Naperville Battlekings and sparking the Drummers to a 12-1 victory.
Burch wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Burch told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
Jim Burch hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Burch currently has a .367 batting average with 22 hits, 0 homers, 8 RBIs, 4 runs scored and a .377 OBP.
