It's Over: Belugas Stop Winston Tuesday, July 25th, 2028 The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds defeated the Brinkley Belugas 7-4 today at Dog Park in Ellenburg, but Norman Winston's 24-game hitting string was snapped and went to the wayside. Winston went hitless in 2 at-bats. "I enjoyed the streak," the shortstop said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the 'W' today. That's all that really counts." For the season, Winston is hitting at a .266 clip with 3 home runs, 25 RBIs and has scored 40 runs. He has 73 hits, 31 walks and a .353 on-base percentage. |
