Guzzlers Lose Franken for Season Wednesday, August 16th, 2028 The doctors have spoken and Kevin Franken of the Galesburg Guzzlers didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Franken sustained his season-ending injury during the Grand Forks Caterpillars game yesterday at Galesburg Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Galesburg medical staff reported Franken had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11-12 months. So far this year Franken has no saves in 9 relief appearances with a 1-0 record and 1.12 ERA. |
