Gold Sox Win Thriller, 5-2
|
A 3-RBI performance from designated hitter Melvin Castro, who is on pace for 75 RBI this season, led the Chicago Gold Sox to a 5-2 win over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen. The win was credited to Rob Rocha in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Asher Spivey took the loss. With the victory, the Gold Sox record now stands at 49-33.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Castro hit a fastball from Asher Spivey for a 3-run home run. The Gold Sox, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
