Northern Lions BC Lose Again, 4-3
|
Oakland Oaks starter Jesús Franco was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 4-3. Franco, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Júlio Saldaña.
Oakland grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Mike Wazowski delivered a 2-run single, to make it 3-1 in favor of the Oaks.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Wazowski, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Thunder Bay has now lost 7 straight.
