Divided Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Cattlemen
|
Getting a good performance from third baseman Arturo Rodríguez, the D.C. Divided defeated the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 5-3. Rodríguez went 2-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Divided. D.C. reliever Jesús Prieto picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jason Horne took the loss. The Divided move to 45-27 with the win, while the Cattlemen drop to 32-40.
Wilfred McLaughlin broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the eighth with a run-scoring strikeout. It put the Divided in front, 3-2. For the game, McLaughlin scored once.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth.
