Cattlemen Win at D.C., 3-2
|
Ft. Worth Cattlemen starter Paul Díaz was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the D.C. Divided, 3-2. The winning pitcher was Díaz, now 4-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Ft. Worth now sits in 6th place in the Silver League at 32-38.
In the top of the sixth inning, right fielder Rick Mayfield came through big-time for the Cattlemen. With Ft. Worth trailing 2-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"It feels good to get this one," Mayfield told the Ft. Worth Herald.
