Northern Lions BC Slip Past Seattle, 4-3
|
Thunder Bay beat Seattle at Great Northern Field, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Tyler MacHugh, who earned player of the game honors. Thunder Bay reliever Tony Solíz picked up the win, upping his record to 2-5. Yajirobei Otomo was saddled with the loss. The Northern Lions BC, now 30-34, have won 5 in a row.
David Smith was the walk-off hero for Thunder Bay. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Thunder Bay designated hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"Put a star next to this win," MacHugh said.
