The Wizarding Express got a strong performance from pitcher Javier Roldán, who stymied the Northern Virginia offense en route to a 4-1 win at Platform 9 3/4. Eijiro Takahashi earned the save for Wizarding, his 7th of the year. With the loss, Northern Virginia sinks to 9-8.
Tied up with the Rainbow Mermaids in the bottom of the fifth, the Express got a boost from third baseman António Martínez. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Martínez saw a 2-2 forkball from Arnie Pittman and hit a 2-run double to break the stalemate and put Wizarding on top, 2-0.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said Wizarding manager Dan Cahill.
