Grey Wolves Suffer 4-3 Setback
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen faced a tough opponent in Vancouver pitcher Bartolo Ruíz, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Wolf Den in Vancouver by a final score of 4-3. Ruíz went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. After today's action, Ft. Worth sits at 27-35, while Vancouver falls to 25-37.
Tim Burney's at-bat in the top of the seventh was significant for the Cattlemen. Coming to the plate with a runner on 2nd and Ft. Worth leading 3-2, the pinch hitter hit a run-scoring single.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Burney told the Ft. Worth Herald.
