Walsh Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Vancouver in Walk-Off Win
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves picked up a win at Wolf Den in Vancouver, knocking off the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 3-2. On the mound for Vancouver was right-hander Manny Caraballo, who played a pivotal role in the win. Tate Beason picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Tony Solíz was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Vancouver sits at 18-30, while Thunder Bay falls to 23-25.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 2-2, shortstop Danny Walsh won it for Vancouver. With a runner on 2nd, Walsh hit a 0-2 splitter from Tony Solíz for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 3-2 win.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Walsh said.
