Divided Bang Out 7-6 Win Versus Rocky Mountain
|
Rocky Mountain got a terrific game from first baseman Javier Sánchez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to D.C., 7-6. Sánchez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Luis Fernández, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 1-2. Jesús Prieto earned the save for D.C., his 1st of the year.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Arturo Rodríguez barreled up a fastball from Ismael Barrios. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Divided in front, 3-2.
"We'll savor this win," Rodríguez told the D.C. Today, "then get ready for the next game."
The Divided sit in third place in the Silver League with a record of 26-18.
