Bulls Lose, 5-4, at Gators Ballpark
|
The Hogsmeade Cauldrons defeated the Mt. Vernon Bulls, 5-4, in USPL Single A action at Gators Ballpark, with Hogsmeade pitcher William Fothergill named player of the game. Getting the save was Kenny McCulley, his 2nd. At 30-56, the Cauldrons are currently 9th in the Premier A.
Hogsmeade took a 3-1 lead on Javier López's 5th double of the season. The 2-run double, which López hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Mt. Vernon pitcher Steve Costlow shaking his head.
López told the Hogsmeade News: "I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more.' You win just by scoring more runs."
