|
Columbia pitcher Carlos Córdova gave the Dragonblood all they could handle, but in the end, Yellowknife left Columbia Stadium with a 6-4 win. Córdova allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 5.1 innings. The Dragonblood now have a record of 38-39 with the win over Columbia.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the first inning when the Dragonblood sent teenager Santiago Miranda to the plate against River Rats hurler José Pueblo. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-1 curveball to score 2.
"It feels good to get this one," Miranda told the Yellowknife News.
