River Rats Stay Hot with 4-1 Win
|
Columbia used a superb performance from starting pitcher José Pueblo to down the Chicago Tula, 4-1. Pueblo got the win, improving to 8-5. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. Pueblo allowed 1 earned run. The River Rats have now won 7 straight.
It could have been a different outcome for Columbia, had it not been for Mario Jacome, the 23-year old center fielder . Jacome contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Columbia up, 2-1.
"I like our mindset right now," said Columbia manager Joe Richard.
