Plainsmen Take Down Dragonblood, 5-2
|
The Nebraska Plainsmen eeked out a 5-2 win versus the Yellowknife Dragonblood at Plain Old Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Alberto Bahe, who captured player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Bahe, now 3-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Nebraska occupies 8th place in the Premier A at 18-20.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third. That's when Elian Gonzalez, who is tied for 2nd in the PA in triples with 3, grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Plainsmen went on to win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Bahe told the Nebraska Daily.
