Quiñones Dazzles in Phoenix Win
|
In a well-pitched game between the Phoenix Hotspur U-21 and the Gwinnett County Black Cats, pitcher José Quiñones was superb. The Phoenix right-hander was named the player of the game in Phoenix's 3-0 win. Leon von Stroheim was credited with the save for Phoenix, his 3rd of the season. The 5th-place Hotspur U-21 now have a 4-game winning streak.
Quiñones, a native of Santa Cruz, Argentina, was dealing all game. He kept Gwinnett County hitters off-balance, while giving the Hotspur U-21 8 quality innings. Quiñones threw 102 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 6.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Quiñones.
