River Rats Turn Back Hogsmeade, 5-3
|
Benefiting from Dan Parkinson's productive game, the Columbia River Rats downed the Hogsmeade Cauldrons, 5-3. Parkinson was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the River Rats. José Fuentes finished to wrap up his 7th save. The Cauldrons fall to 6-12 and continue their uneasy start to the 2028 season.
The Columbia triumph was a team effort. It included several important contributors, Yves Girard not least among them. In the top of the third, the Columbia center fielder came to bat and hit a run-scoring double. It staked his team to a 3-2 lead.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Columbia manager Joe Richard.
