Nebraska rode a fine outing from starter Britt Throgmorton to victory over the Mt. Vernon Bulls at Plain Old Stadium. The final score was 1-0. Nebraska reliever Ken Swander picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. David Gómez shouldered the loss. I-tsing Ts'ong picked up the save, his 3rd.

Harith Karim drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Nebraska. The 21-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Evan Roy. It was his 3rd walk of the season.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," Karim told the Nebraska Daily. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."

The Nebraska Plainsmen, now 7-3, have been on a roll in the early going.
