The South Beach Blaze grabbed a 7-6 win over the Yellowknife Dragonblood at The Dragon Den. South Beach left fielder Ramiro Ramos was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Darren Minich picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Pak Dong Hyeon was tagged with the loss. South Beach improves to 6-4 as they look to defend their championship.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 2nd in the top of the seventh. That's when António Ramírez drew a walk. The Blaze went on to win.
In comments to the South Beach Bulletin, Ramos admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
