River Rats Go Down to Defeat, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Phoenix Hotspur U-21 and the Columbia River Rats, pitcher Jason DeGeorge was the difference-maker. The Phoenix right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Kenny Kawaguchi picked up the save, his 2nd. Phoenix is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 3rd in 9 games.
A decisive at-bat came in the bottom of the sixth inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the batter, Solomon Norment, hit a sacrifice fly. It made the score 3-2, Phoenix, and helped them go on to win.
DeGeorge said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
