Idaho Falls Hot Streak Continues with 5-3 Win
|
In a close game at Washington Park, the Idaho Falls Chukars edged the Washington Generals, 5-3. Idaho Falls first baseman Spencer Lyng earned the nod as player of the game after he went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Idaho Falls starter Noah Beck was credited with the win after throwing 107 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 6-1. Claudio Palma was credited with the save for Idaho Falls, his 9th of the season.
Lyng came through with some timely hitting for Idaho Falls. With the score 1-0 in the top of the third and one down, Lyng hit a first pitch changeup for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season -- and a big reason the Chukars managed to win.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said Idaho Falls manager Dan Anderson.
The Chukars have now won 7 straight.
