Reapers Get One-Run Win at Idaho Falls
|
Grim Reapers starter Armando Romano was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Idaho Falls Chukars, 4-3. Romano went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 7-6. Archie Erickson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 11th save.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the fifth, with the game tied, Lee Benjamin was at the plate when Grim scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Reapers to go in front, 3-2.
"We'll savor this win," Benjamin told the Grim Times, "then get ready for the next game."
Grim leads the Silver A by 2½ games.
