Airmen Saddle Generals with 9-2 Loss
|
In a tight contest at Alameda Field, the Alameda Airmen edged the Washington Generals by the score of 9-2. The Alameda Airmen's right fielder Fernando Miranda, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Alameda reliever Marvin Cahill picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Mario Villalobos absorbed the loss. The 5th-place Airmen improved to 48-40.
Alameda grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Rodrigo Rodríguez delivered a 3-run home run, to make it 5-2 in favor of the Airmen.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Miranda told the Alameda Gazette.
