Airmen Suffer 3-2 Setback
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Niagara Falls Expos and the Alameda Airmen, pitcher Corey Dudding was the difference-maker. The Niagara Falls right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Tony Moreno got the win, improving to 7-0. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Picking up the save was Jefferson Suhendro, his 17th.
Dudding came through with some timely hitting for Niagara Falls. With the score 2-1 in the top of the eighth and two down, Dudding hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was his 45th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Expos managed to win.
"Getting the win feels pretty nice," said Dudding. "More importantly, I had a good game."
Niagara Falls, now 36-51, holds 8th place in the Silver A.
