Boston Patriots starter John Kaufman turned in a top-notch performance against the Detroit Renaissance at Detroit Field. The result was a win for the Patriots, 3-1. The Patriots raised their record to 2-0.

Karl Schultz's at-bat in the top of the ninth was significant for the Patriots. Coming to the plate with a runner on 1st and Boston leading 2-1, the pinch hitter hit a run-scoring double.

"John is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.
