Generals Get Past Walla Walla for 3-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Washington Generals and the Walla Walla Walleye, pitcher Wendell Clingan was masterful on the mound. The Washington right-hander was named the player of the game in Washington's 3-0 win. Washington reliever Ramón Cortéz was the winner. His record is now 6-0. The losing pitcher was Fernando Barraza. Randy Gabaldon recorded his 4th save for Washington.
Late in the game, first baseman Franklin Rascón had a big at-bat for Washington. In the top of the eighth, he hit a 2-run single off Martyn Drdio. The play gave the Generals a 2-0 lead.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Washington manager Jacob Curtis. "Our pregame was pretty good."
Washington bumps their record to 46-31 with the win.
