Fans who gathered at The Heron Refuge saw a good contest between the Hammond Herons and Niagara Falls Expos.
In a well-pitched game between the Hammond Herons and the Niagara Falls Expos, pitcher Raymond Beauregard was fantastic. The Hammond left-hander was named the player of the game in Hammond's 2-1 win. Toshiki Yokoyama earned the save, his 7th.
Hammond took the lead in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Jean Lechuga stroked a run-scoring double to make it 2-1, Herons.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Beauregard.
Hammond currently is in 4th place in the Silver A at 40-33.
