Middies Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
Thunder Bay center fielder António Mendoza was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Grafton beat the Northern Lions BC, 7-5. Mendoza was named the player of the game despite the loss. Grafton reliever Lynwood Matos picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jorge Castillo took the loss. Losses have been rare for the Northern Lions BC, who are now 8-2.

Grafton won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. That's when right fielder Dave Ash hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Middies fans to their feet.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Ash said after the game.
