Storm Lose to Walleye in Walk Off
|
The Walla Walla Walleye picked up a win at Walleye Tank, knocking off the Syracuse Storm, 2-1. Starting pitcher Steve Tedder, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Walleye go to 27-37, putting them 8th in the Silver A.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th. That's when Walla Walla catcher Shuichi Saito, facing Francisco Castillo, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Walleye the 2-1 win.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Walla Walla skipper Arturo Chávez.
