Jets Go Down to Defeat, 6-2
|
The Walla Walla Walleye bested the Kennesaw Jets, 6-2, at Jets Stadium. Rim Hong-Do was named player of the game. He went 2 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. The winner was Steve Tedder, who threw 94 pitches over 5.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits. Fernando Barraza closed it out for his 2nd save.
Luis Delvalle, who is tied for 10th in the SA in RBI with 23, aided the Walla Walla cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Walla Walla Walleye manager Arturo Chávez. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
The Walleye are now 23-36, while the Jets fall to 25-34.
