The Hammond Herons knocked off the Niagara Falls Expos, 8-4, at Waterfall Park. John O'Neil, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Hammond won. The right fielder went 2-2 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The slumping Expos have lost 8 straight.

Jean Lechuga contributed an important at-bat in the top of the fifth. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that helped send Hammond to the win.
