Storm Deal Walleye 5-3 Setback
|
The Syracuse Storm defeated the Walla Walla Walleye, 5-3, in USSL Single A action at Walleye Tank, with Syracuse pitcher Rich McLean named player of the game. Marcos Sarmiento closed it out for his 2nd save. The Storm sit in 8th place in the Silver A with a record of 20-30.
Tied up with the Walleye in the top of the fourth, the Storm got a boost from center fielder Juan Caro. With the bases loaded, Caro saw a first pitch fastball from Jon King and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Syracuse on top, 3-1.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," McLean told a Syracuse Today reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
