Rascón 3-4, Generals Move to 27-15
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old right fielder Franklin Rascón, the Washington Generals stymied the Niagara Falls Expos, 6-2. Francisco Bojórquez picked up the save, his 1st. The first-place Generals have a one-game lead in their division.
When the Generals needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Rascón who delivered. Facing Niagara Falls pitcher Javier Contreras the top of the fifth with runners on 1st and 2nd, Rascón hit his 3rd home run of the year. It made the score 6-1.
Rascón attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
