Herons Take Tight Tilt
|
The Hammond Herons eeked out a 3-2 win versus the Grim Reapers at The Coffin. Nobody did more than pitcher Chad Li, who captured player of the game honors. Li went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-3. Toshiki Yokoyama earned the save, his 3rd, for the Herons.
Wilson López, who is tied for 9th in the SA in stolen bases with 9, aided the Hammond cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Li told the Hammond Daily News.
Grim has now lost 4 consecutive games.
