Victory Over Generals Takes Hammond to 19-12
|
It was a good time at The Heron Refuge, where fans came to watch the Washington Generals and Hammond Herons get after it.
Hammond starter Raymond Beauregard pitched effectively against the Washington Generals at The Heron Refuge. The left-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. The winning pitcher was Beauregard, now 4-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. Kris Ross closed the door for Hammond, picking up his 7th save of the year.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the first. That's when Ramón Flores, who is tied for 2nd in the SA with a .345 batting average, grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Herons went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Flores after the game.
Hammond's record now stands at 19-12, placing them 4th in the Silver A.
