Luna Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Kennesaw in Walk-Off Win
|
The Niagara Falls Expos got a superb performance from pitcher Washington Scarpenti. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kennesaw. The Jets won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Scarpenti was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Kennesaw reliever Mau Delgado was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Jefferson Suhendro took the loss. Their 12-17 record puts the Jets 7th in the Silver A.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Kennesaw trailing 3-2, José Luna hit a fastball from Mannus Dijkman to left for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Jets had a walk-off win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Niagara Falls manager Dave Ross.
