Victory Over Bruins Takes Grim to 20-8
|
Grim Reapers starter Armando Romano turned in an exceptional performance against the Bellevue Bruins at Bellevue Field, resulting in a Grim win, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Romano, now 3-2. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 9. The first-place Reapers have a one-game lead in their division.
Tied up with the Bruins in the top of the fourth, the Reapers got a boost from third baseman Qu-bing Thien. With a runner on 2nd, Thien saw a 2-1 fastball from Gwang-soo Park and hit a 2-run home run to break the stalemate and put Grim on top, 3-1.
"It feels good to get that win," said Romano. "Now it's on to the next one."
