|
The Walla Walla Walleye relied on the hitting of center fielder Bennett Whitford to stop the Hammond Herons, 10-2. For the game, Whitford was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The Walleye now have a record of 12-15.
Whitford had no bigger at-bat than in the bottom of the third when the speedster hit a double. The double gave Walla Walla the lead, 1-0. It was his 6th double of the season.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Walla Walla Walleye manager Arturo Chávez.
